Santa Project Raises Over $10K For Local Children

Gordon Humphrey’s Culpeper Has Talent event is the largest single contributor to the Blue & Red Santa Project with this $3,500 contribution made Tuesday outside the Culpeper County Volunteer Fire Dept. Co. 1 on West Davis Street. A community effort of the Culpeper Police Dept., Co. 1, Virginia State Police, Culpeper Human Services and numerous local businesses and groups, the Santa Project will take 120 low income children from Culpeper shopping for holiday gifts at Walmart on Dec. 2 and them treat them all to breakfast back at the station. An estimated $11,000 total was donated to the project so far—those wanting to support the effort can still purchase raffle tickets for a corn-hole set at K&M Equipment. From left are: Company 1 Chief Kenny Mills, Tim Sisk with the Culpeper PD, Steve Corbin with Co. 1, Humphrey, Dickie Thomas with Co. 1 and Mike Scott with Scott Landscaping, a major supporter of the charitable effort.
