The 2018 Blue and Red Santa Project

The Culpeper Police Department and The Culpeper Volunteer Fire Department have, once again, joined forces to spread the joy of Christmas.  The Blue & Red Santa project was created to give back to the community that is served by the Culpeper Police Department and Culpeper Volunteer Fire Department.  This is the third year for this program, with an extremely successful first couple of years.  The project had 122 children participate during the first year. The children went back to the Culpeper Fire Department to meet with Santa, participate in activities and eat breakfast. Several local businesses, civil groups and restaurants donated money and food to make this project successful.

This project works closely with the Department of Social Services.  The children selected will be invited to go shopping with local police officers and firefighters for gifts for their family members and themselves.  This project is a community effort to help support local families celebrate their holidays. This project cannot be accomplished without the assistance of the community.  Each participating child will get a designated amount to purchase gifts at Culpeper Wal-Mart. The amount depends on the amount of money that is raised. The Culpeper Wal-Mart is also partnering with us, by giving an additional 10% off purchases for these children.  The goal is to take at least 125 children shopping this year on December 1, 2018 beginning at 7:00 AM.

There are several levels of sponsorship that can help push this project forward.  Listed below is a breakdown of each level and how many children will go shopping with your contribution.

CHRISTMAS ANGEL $2100+ (21+ CHILDREN)

SANTA $1201 – $2099 (12 – 20 CHILDREN)

FROSTY $901 – $1200 (9 – 12 CHILDREN)

RUDOLPH $501 – $900 (5 – 9 CHILDREN)
