Culpeper Parade Invitation
May 23, 2024

April 16, 2024

Dear Friends,

The Culpeper County Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Parade will be held Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. The parade line-up will begin at 5:00 p.m. and the parade will start promptly at 6:30 p.m.  All groups must register using the online form in the link below.

This year’s line-up process will be “first come, first served”. As your group arrives, the Parade Staff will check you in and verify your entry information. You must arrive at check- in with all of the vehicles and/or floats in your group. There will be no “saving space” for late arriving vehicles/floats. People in your group can still park off the line-up route and walk to your group once your group is in line-up.

The line-up route is the same as last year, enter the Culpeper Town Square Shopping Center and proceed to the far-right side of the parking lot to the rear parking area. This is where we will check you in. Once you are checked in by the Parade Staff, you will proceed along the line-up route until you reach the group that arrived before you. If you need time to gather all of your group, do this in the front parking lot and proceed to the rear parking lot ONLY AFTER your group is complete.

With this new check-in process, we will be able include late arriving groups even after the parade starts at 6:30pm. We will continue to check in groups until 7:00 pm.

Walking groups:  Please register as soon as possible as there will be a limited number of slots available for walking groups. The walking groups line-up will be between Main St. and West Piedmont St. as before. You must arrive before 6:15 pm to be ready when the parade starts at 6:30 pm. Remember, if you are dropping someone off and plan to watch the parade, you should then park somewhere near the end of the parade.

Prior to the parade date, we will send you a map showing the route to enter the check-in area and the line-up route you will follow AFTER check-in.

This is Culpeper County Volunteer Fire Department’s 100th anniversary year and, with your group’s participation, we hope to have the best annual parade in our history! We hope that you and your organization will help make this happen.

To register for the parade, you must complete this online registration form.

Registrations will be accepted up to May 20, 2024. Any registration submitted AFTER May 20, 2024 will NOT be accepted.

All entries will be judged exclusively during the procession of the parade. Trophies and awards will be presented at 9:00 p.m. at the fairgrounds (Culpeper Agriculture Enterprise). Trophies and awards will be available for pickup at the Merchant’s Booth during the carnival. A winners list will be posted on our Facebook page by the following morning.

Please complete the online parade registration form with your organization name, address, point of contact, length of float, vehicle etc. Additional information will be sent prior to the parade to the email address you enter into the registration form. If you have questions or need additional information, please email ccvfdparade@gmail.com

Sincerely,
Culpeper Parade Committee
